COMPETITIONS
Deadline :Friday, July 18, 2008

Designing the 21st Century Street, sponsored by Transportation Alternatives, challenges interested individuals and groups to think about how the design of New York streets can become part of a new era of city planning. Participants are asked to redesign the intersection of 9th St. and 4th Ave. in Brooklyn, New York by creating a livable and sustainable solution that gives priority to pedestrians and bicyclists. Transportation Alternatives is interested in entries that apply a green transportation hierarchy and give careful thought to the social and cultural impacts made by urban design. The competition is open to the public and winning entries will be awarded cash prizes up to $6000. Top entries will also be presented in an exhibition in December 2008.
