International Museum of Volcanoes
Deadline: 01.15.2011

Lanzarote, the most northern island and east of the Canaries Islands archipelago, is located at a distance of 1,000 km from the Iberian Peninsula and 140 from the African coast. Presents its current volcanic morphology, thanks to the first volcanic eruptions between 1730 and 1736, making Lanzarote a mythical place. Lanzarote has Timanfaya National Park which is under the protection of the Biosphere Reserve of Unesco since 1993. The island is pure geology, undersea and lunar landscapes, clear waters, thirsty land, an oasis of palm trees, is in harmonious coexistence between man and nature. No doubt a land of contrasts.
