COMPETITIONS
Deadline :Monday, September 15, 2008

In a competition to reinvent the single-family home, From the Ground Up is seeking a cost-efficient and green prototype that can become a model for future development in urban residential neighborhoods. The goal of the competition is to produce designs that are sensitive to the scale and composition of the proposed site in Syracuse, New York while also meeting the needs of the existing and potential residents. Interested teams are asked to submit a booklet of past work, from which a committee will select up to 3 teams to tour the neighborhood and site. The teams will then be given 8 weeks and a stipend of $25,000 to develop their designs for a 1,100 to 1,500-square-foot home.
