Chicago development may force residents back to dangerous neighborhoods

Some of Chicago’s affordable housing residents are literally fearing for their lives. Families living in one mixed-income development Near North Side have been given notice that they will have to move for up to five months while Atrium Village—located nex to Seward Park—is being torn down and rebuilt over the next year. According to dnainfo, some of the residents who live there may have to return to their former neighborhoods on the south and west sides of the city, where they fear the lack of resources and the threat of gun violence.
