New York City’s Municipal Art Society has been lead since last February by Gina Pollara. Now, according to members of the society (MAS is a membership based organization) its Board of Directors is calling for a meeting on Thursday, December 29, to ‘discuss “to consider matters respecting the president of the society.” These members think the board is trying to replace Pollara over this holiday week for reasons that are unclear and unspecified.

These sources are asking every dues paying member of the Society to contact MAS Secretary Susan Freedman (sfreedman [@] publicartfund.org) while cc’ing info [@] mas.org and request a special meeting of the organization to discuss the actions of the Board. If you are not a member of MAS and are concerned about the Society this is a good time to join the organization and have your voice and views heard.
