The building of the École Enfants du Monde in Montréal was constructed and inaugurated in 1961 under the name École St-Louis-de-Gonzague and was designed by the architect Gaétan Le Borgne. Featuring two upper stories and a basement, the building has a rectangular shape and sits parallel to Rue Marcel. It backs onto Parc Noël, which has a large number of trees. A row of mature trees borders the building’s front section, and a significant tree stands to the east of the school.

The Saint-Laurent borough saw a significant annual increase in primary school student numbers, particularly in the Bois-Franc neighborhood. This prompted the CSMB to enlarge several of its schools—most notably the Enfants-du-Monde school.

By reason of the design diversity of Swisspearl® panels they decided to clad the École Enfants du Monde with this fiber cement material to give some color to the new renovated building.
