Over the past two years, our domestic spaces have grown from passive environments where we sleep, eat, and entertain to encompass places of work. Marrying the spheres of life and work is far from easy, but a new slate of products—from IoT wares to efficient HVAC systems—aims to blur dividing lines. Increased time spent at the house has also alerted homeowners to inefficiencies in their domestic setup, and they have responded by making enhancements inside (e.g., finishes and hardware) and out (coatings and sealants, smart locks).
