Each year a premier event for the public, planned to highlight outstanding examples of residential architecture designed by AIA members, takes place in San Antonio. A selection of residences are opened in the fall by their owners to allow for this self-guided, self-driving tour. Homes are selected by the annual jury based on submissions by the architects.

The housing types to be showcased can be as varied as their owners. Single-family residences; luxury townhomes, contemporary urban renewal, high-rise residential and remote hill side estates have been some of the offerings in previous year’s tours. And, while each one is unique, all are united by the commonalities of outstanding design, quality craftsmanship and value for the architectural dollar invested.
