A+C 15: PRESIDIO OFFICERS’ CLUB:
ADAPTIVE REUSE IN SAN FRANCISCO’S OLDEST BUILDING

August 19, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

$20 – $30

Before there was a city of San Francisco, there was the Presidio of San Francisco. Established in 1776 the adobe walls of the Officers’ Club stand as a testament to California’s colonial beginnings. Now reimagined as a destination, the Officers’ Club serves as the gateway to the Presidio, welcoming visitors and residents alike. Through creative adaptive reuse, the club’s historic details are now celebrated alongside modern facilities, including classrooms, galleries, and an award-winning restaurant. Join architect Cathy Simon FAIA of Perkins + Will as she offers insight of the building’s reimagining, reuse, and experience layers of history literally revealed in the colonial adobe walls.
