The San Francisco Zoo Elinor Friend Playground evolved from reliving and reimagining our own youthful joys and physical challenges. In order to design a playground one must observe the innate and universal impulses to “play”. In the tour of the Zoo playground, Ron Holthuysen, lead designer at Scientific Art Studio, will take you through the journeys of our design process as we make our way through three different playground habitats.
