Please join the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee for a tour of the recently completed Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library.
The New York Public Library officially opened its completely renovated central circulating library to the public. The $200-million renovation, led by Mecanoo and Beyer Blinder Belle, includes eight floors of important amenities serving users of all ages. Using creativity and ingenuity to preserve and breathe new life into a historic New York City building, the design team behind the transformation succeeded in creating beautiful, light-filled, inspiring spaces with a classic, timeless, functional design incorporating elements that speak to the building’s history and complementary relationship to the historic Steven A. Schwarzman Building.
