As part of the AIA’s 2017 Women’s Leadership Summit, the Women Inspiring Design, Equity in Architecture (WIDEA) Lecture will feature Dina Griffin, AIA, who will share her unusual path to the profession as well as important milestones and obstacles overcome in her leadership journey. She will also discuss her firm, Interactive Design Associates, the practice’s underlying philosophy and how it has led to incredible projects including a collaboration with Renzo Piano on the Art institute of Chicago’s Modern Wing project and the role of associate architect with Tod Williams| Billie Tsien Architects for the Obama Presidential Center. Griffin will also shed insight on the continuing low percent of people of color in architecture and the importance of mentoring and outreach to students and young professionals. Griffin appeared on the 2016 EBONY POWER 100 list.
