The fourth evening of the annual Emerging Voices lecture series features Alex Anmahian, Nick Winton of Anmahian Winton Architects; and Cesar Guerrero, Ana Cecilia Garza, Carlos Flores, Maria Sevilla of S-AR. Emerging Voices spotlights individuals and firms based in the United States, Canada, or Mexico with distinct design voices and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism.

Alex Anmahian and Nick Winton co-founded Anmahian Winton Architects in 1992. Alex Anmahian has taught at MIT School of Architecture as part of its visiting faculty. Nick Winton joined Rhode Island School of Design’s visiting faculty in 2015. Anmahian Winton Architects views “the synthesis of place, program, and community as an opportunity to enhance the rituals of everyday life, foster a sense of wellbeing, and to inspire the imagination.” Recent projects include the Ford Hill Observatory in New Hampshire, the Capital Vista Office building in Ankara, Turkey, and the Community Rowing Boathouse in Boston.

Cesar Guerrero, Ana Cecilia Garza, and Carlos Flores established S-AR in 2006, and Maria Sevilla joined in 2008. Cesar Guerrero, Carlos Flores, and Maria Sevilla have all taught at the School of Architecture at ITESM (Monterrey Institute of Technology). S-AR’s work focuses on “the design and development of architectural projects of several scales and typologies from private, experimental, and social structures to architectural installations, educational buildings as well as furniture and book design.” Recent projects include the Concrete House residence, the Wood House residence, and the Desert Observatory, all located in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Henry N. Cobb is a founding principal of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. Throughout his career, he has coupled his professional activity with teaching, most intensively during a five-year term (1980–85) as Studio Professor and Chairman of the Department of Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Mr. Cobb received thePresident’s Medal of The Architectural League in 2015. He served on this year’s Emerging Voices committee.

Tickets are free for League members; $10 for non-members. Members may reserve a ticket by e-mailing: rsvp@archleague.org. Member tickets will be electronically distributed the day of the event and should be printed in advance; unclaimed tickets will be released fifteen minutes after the start of the program. Non-members may purchase tickets onlinehere beginning April 5 until 12:00 p.m. April 12. Additional non-member tickets will be available at the door for purchase with cash, space permitting.
