GLASS | Lightness and Transparency

« All Events

Creating shelter from the elements yet maintaining connections to nature and the urban environment has been a subject that occupies a central position in architectural thinking. The development of glass as an architectural element fulfills this promise in various ways: bringing filtered daylight into interior spaces, framing views to the outdoors, reflecting spaces and extending perspectives, diffusing and filtering electric light, ad creating sculptural and spatial pieces that challenge and redefine our perceptions of space. This panel discussion will explore the spiritual, practical, ornamental and spatial ways in which the use of glass has shaped our spatio-architectural constructs and the cities we inhabit.
