Water has played an essential role in architecture since the beginning of civilization. It has played a pivotal role in the development of economies worldwide and is a precious resource that shapes the cities we live in. With sea level rise threatening coastal cities and development, water has become a force of nature that continues, now more than ever, to shape our environment and the way we approach design for the future. This panel discussion will explore the historic, ceremonial, spiritual, economic, and environmental connections between water and architecture in various cultures and time frames.
