Living Healthy: The Design and Development of Healthy Building in the National Capital Region

Designing for health and well-being is on the leading edge of architectural design and community planning throughout the United States; however, few projects in the local area are purposefully doing so. Designing for health is about enhancing the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of the people who live, work, and play in our spaces. It’s about building social and financial capital in communities both urban and rural.

AIA|DC and the Design + Wellbeing Committee are offering a special one-day conference where architects, planners, and developers discuss the integration of design and wellbeing into residential and commercial projects.  Speakers will highlight design strategies, programs and technologies that take into account the health and wellbeing of the building occupant and the business case that advance their viability. Sponsored by the Architects Foundation.
