The Catalan office Flores & Prats will give a tour of its most relevant projects, such as the Sala Beckett, and the lines that direct its work, among which are the exhaustive documentation of each project and the restoration. Flores & Prats are an architecture studio founded in Barcelona in 1998 that combines project design and construction with a strong focus on academic activities at a number of universities. After their experience at Enric Miralles studio, Ricardo Flores and Eva Prats developed a career where research is always linked to the responsibility to make and to build, in order that the projects are made, built and so they can participate in the free of interpretation that provides the finished work. About them, the critic Miquel Adrià has said: “They say that Enric Miralles continued to draw a project, even if it had already finished building. Some of this also occurs in the work of Flores & Prats, in the measure that there is no beginning and end of a project or a work, but a narrative continuum that leads from a project to another, which weaves together themes, programs, scales, anecdotes. His projects are stories.”
Within the framework of the MEXTRÓPOLI City and Architecture Festival, the office will give a talk this year where it will present some of its most important projects, such as the Sala Beckett.
Date: Thursday, May 20.
Time: 1:00 pm (GMT-5).
Talk presented by Andrea Griborio and Miquel Adrià.
