Immerse yourself in a modern way of thinking.

The New Canaan Historical Society’s biennial Modern House Day Tour + Symposium continues this year with “Modern: A Way of Thinking.” Check-in begins at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan, CT) at 8:30 am with a continental breakfast, followed by the symposium beginning at 9:45 am. Speakers include Hicks Stone, architect, author, and son of Edward Durell Stone; Bill Ryall, FAIA, LEED, PHIUS, and partner at Ryall, Porter, Sheridan; and Sharon Prince, President of Grace Farms.

After the symposium has ended, box lunches will be served. The Modern House Tour will then commence via private vans. The homes included on the tour were designed by Eliot Noyes, Alan Goldberg, John Black Lee, and Philip Johnson. The homes have been updated by Toshiko Mori, Joeb Moore, Amanda Martocchio, and Kengo Kuma. There will also be a guided tour of Grace Farms designed by SANAA architects.

The day will conclude with a cocktail party back at Grace Farms. AIA credit available.
