a statue-less plinth

As the world bears witness to the widespread protests that directly confront racism and the institutions that uphold its existence, monuments continue to function as sites of radical gathering and critical action. This keynote discussion will focus on acknowledging, removing, and reimaging how monuments function within our society. The event features Zyahna Bryant, student activist and community organizer; Geoff Ward, Professor of African and African-American Studies at Washington University in St. Louis; and lauren woods, artist, in conversation with Paul M. Farber, Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Monument Lab. Poet and storyteller Cheeraz Gormon will start the conversation off with an opening reading.
