Traditionally, it has been considered anything from a faux pas to all-out blasphemy to select art based on furniture and decor. Given the increased awareness of important authored pieces of design from the past, and the rise of design superstars such as Philippe Starck and Patricia Urquiola, the relationship between fine art and furniture and design is shifting. In Modern Resale‘s first salon series, we’ll explore what role the interior designer and/or consumer plays in the balance; how interior designers add another level of authorship; and how we navigate and stratify these vibrant cultural expressions.

The conversation will be moderated by Abigail Stone, Los Angeles Editor at Large for California Home + Design and will include Delta Wright of Delta Wright Interior Design and curator Maryna Hrushetska, among others.
