The Future is Glass

Renowned glass artist Steve Klein will present a lecture on the meaningful and exciting journey of studio glass as it reaches into the new millennium, exploring the development of its artists, techniques, materiality, innovation, and education. The lecture is free to all audiences and is presented to accompany the new exhibition at Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert, Glass for the New Millennium: Masterworks from the Kaplan-Ostergaard Collection (November 4, 2016 – March 7, 2017).

Klein lives in La Conner, Washington, where he currently maintains a studio and makes his distinctive kiln-formed and blown glass work. In creating a wide variety of imagery in his work, he uses shape, color, line, texture, and the incomparable reflection of light that only glass can provide. Steve’s work is in the permanent collections of museums around the world.
