The World Around Summit 2021

January 30, 2021

Dedicated to sharing the most critical and cutting-edge new projects and conversations in the field of contemporary architecture, design, and culture, the global forum The World Around will hold its second annual summit on Saturday January 30, 2021. Curated by Beatrice Galilee, The World Around Summit 2021 brings together the most innovative international practitioners who are shaping the future of architecture and design and addressing world-wide issues today including politics, indigenous rights, racial justice, education, and health. This year’s event marks the launch of a year-long residency for The World Around at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The program will be broadcast on the Guggenheim Museum’s YouTube channel and on Dezeen, the world’s most popular and influential architecture, interiors, and design magazine. The World Around is made possible by the generous support of Facebook Open Arts.

The 2021 summit will be an ambitious and unique broadcast of site-specific presentations and discussions in 14 international cities and cultural institutions. Conference speakers will showcase new buildings and projects in-situ and registered viewers will have the opportunity to participate in live Q&As online. This hybrid of digital and physical events will allow people from across the world to access and engage in the day-long conference. Live in-person events are subject to official government guidelines around Covid-19.

The 2021 World Around Summit will examine the most urgent topics related to the environment, equity, and the city.
