AN is pleased to announce the honorable mentions of this year’s Best of Design Awards. Now in its 11th year, the annual program crowns stellar built and unbuilt architectural projects, from interiors to buildings, installations, landscape, facades, and more.
As 2023 saw a record number of entries for the Design Awards, our jury of respected industry leaders used the editors’ picks and honorable mentions designations to put a special spotlight on projects they deemed particularly strong. This year, there are 45 honorable mentions. These include projects from South Korea, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. 39 of the projects from this list are in the U.S. and comprise 14 different states. New York took the lead with the most honorable mentions at 10, with California and Massachusetts coming in second and third respectively.
This year’s roster ranges from a decommissioned gas platform transformed into a whimsically monstrous art installation to a mobile classroom that highlights Black cultural legacies and more.
