Octavia Casa is set on a well-trod alleyway in Mexico City’s swanky La Condesa neighborhood. The 1,115-square-foot guesthouse features semi-outdoor lounges, five distinctly styled suites, a side garden, and a roof terrace within discrete voids distributed throughout the compact property. Mexico City–based firm Pérez Palacios Arquitectos Asociados (PPAA) developed this oasis as an extension of the Octavia clothing brand, and, in turn, the project helps solidify the brand’s aesthetic.
PPAA opted for a pared-down earth-tone scheme that makes subtle architectonic articulations, nuanced flourishes, and textured finishes the stars of the show. Wooden lattice screens filter natural light, helping to keep the interiors cool while projecting shadow patterns in different hues across patinated walls and ceilings.
