Milos Stehlik, founder of Facets Multimedia and movie critic for public radio station WBEZ, will introduce the first of two movie nights devoted to architecture on film. He will screen L’Inhumaine (in the US: The New Enchantment), directed in 1924 by Marcel L’Herbier, one of the legendary achievements of early French cinema, in a newly restored version. The film features modernist sets designed by the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens, interiors by artist Fernand Léger, furniture and light fixtures by Pierre Chareau, and objects by René Lalique. Popcorn will be provided!
