Face of a Nation: What Happened to the World’s Fair?

August 2, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

$15

Probing deeply into national identity, architect Mina Chow investigates the controversy surrounding US participation at World’s Fairs for the last 25 years. The film asks important questions about the country’s role in the world and perceptions of the American image. With our diminished presence at World’s Fairs, have we lost sight of what it means to be American?

The Long Beach International Film Festival (LBIFF) celebrates its 7th anniversary with an action-packed line up of independent and studio films from around the globe. From August 1 – 4 on Long Island, the Festival will screen an international slate of over 50 films, including feature-length narrative, documentary, short and animated that will compete for a series of Jury, Festival Honors and Audience Awards.

Note: There will be a second screening of this film on Saturday, August 4 at 1:30pm at the Long Beach Public Library.
