Modernism, Inc. Film Screening at the Boston Society for Architects

A screening of Modernism, Inc. a documentary that explores the life and career of Eliot Noyes, the architect (educated by Walter Gropius at Harvard) and designer who built the design programs for IBM, Westinghouse and Mobil Oil and who played a prominent role in the influence of modernism on culture and design in midcentury America. Modernism Inc was a 2023 Finalist for the Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film, and an Official Selection at the 2023 Architecture & Design Film Festival, the 2023 New Haven Film Festival and the 2023 Architecture Film Festival in Rotterdam. This will be the first time the film has been screened in Massachusetts.

Before the screening Noyes’s son Fred, who is also an architect, will give an introduction. The screening will conclude with a Q&A session with Fred and director and writer Jason Cohn of Bread & Butter Films.

The screening will take place on March 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. EST at the Boston Society for Architects.

Tickets are priced at $15 for BSA members, and $30 for non-members.
