Presence
In an increasingly ephemeral, fragmented and digitized world, we find ourselves more restless, distant, endlessly distracted and alone. Architecture can become a tool to help us reconnect – to be more present. To do this, we must embrace an architecture that articulates an experience rather than a form. In the context of New York, and through the lens of past projects and future ambitions, we will discuss the prospect of young firms to produce work that can aspire to intensify a more meaningful engagement of place and with each other.
Studio Cadena is a young architecture practice interested in engaging contemporary life, the city, and its people. Lead by Benjamin Cadena and based in Brooklyn, the studio foregrounds the real, the sensory, the spatial – through speculative and built work, it aspires to shape new and captivating spaces, places and experiences for those who use them.
