NYBG Landscape Design Portfolios Lecture Series: Designing the Unexpected

September 17, 2015 @ 6:30 pm EDT

$26

Join The New York Botanical Garden in Manhattan for a fascinating evening series starting October 5 that explores how ingenuity and deep insights are re-imagining urban landscape design. This year’s featured landscape architects Barbara Aronson, Ken Smith, and Peter Walker respond to a wide range of conditions and aesthetic demands by redefining beauty, fusing influences, and even challenging the notion of space itself. They’ll showcase their signature projects and working methods in this three-part series at Scandinavia House.

  • Barbara Aronson of Shlomo Aronson Architects in Jerusalem presents Looking for Meaning: Man-made Landscapes in Dry Climates on Monday, October 5 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Ken Smith, ASLA of WORKSHOP: Ken Smith Landscape Architect in New York presents Beyond the Metrics on Monday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Peter Walker, FASLA of PWP Landscape Architecture in San Francisco presents Before the Memorial on Monday, November 2, 6:30 p.m.

AIA and LA CES CEUs are available.

Support provided by The Heimbold Foundation.
